Animal Masquerade Parade for Teams

We invite all teenagers and young people to participate in the Animal Masquerade Parade, organized as part of the SunChild International Environmental Festival.

The Animal Masquerade Parade will be a colorful and spectacular procession through the central streets of Yerevan. Participants will create and wear costumes representing endangered animal and/or plant species, using recycled and repurposed materials.

What is required to participate?

  • Participants should create attractive costumes and masks representing different endangered animal and/or plant species, using recycled materials such as paper, fabric, plastic, metal, and other waste.
  • Prepare colorful signs promoting biodiversity conservation.
  • The sign should include the team name, region, and, if representing an institution, the name of the institution.
  • On 25 October, participants will walk through the central streets of Yerevan with their environmental slogans, creative characters, and original ideas.
  • Teams should have a recognizable identity, with all participants clearly identifiable as part of the same team. Teams may participate as one or several groups.
  • Each team must have a designated leader responsible for the participants throughout the parade and ensuring that they remain together. Police officers will also accompany the procession.

Important

Teams will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • Message – How clear, meaningful, and relevant is the team's message to biodiversity conservation?
  • Creativity – How creative, distinctive, original, and unique is the overall work?
  • Creative use of recycled materials – How creatively and effectively are the materials used?
  • Materials used – To what extent are recycled and waste materials used instead of newly purchased materials?
  • Complexity of the work – How skillfully and thoughtfully are the materials used, and how much effort, ingenuity, and work has gone into the creation?
  • Presentation – How attractive and well-organized is the team? How effectively does it represent the chosen plant or animal and capture the attention of the public?
  • Slogan – How creative, distinctive, memorable, and relevant is the slogan to biodiversity conservation and environmental protection?

ALL participating teams will receive certificates at the end of the event, while the top three teams will receive SPECIAL PRIZES.

IMPORTANT: The festival will cover the travel expenses of participants coming from the regions of Armenia.
