House of Cinema
As part of COP17 Armenia, Gyumri Art Week International Contemporary Art Festival, the SunChild International Environmental Film Festival, the House of Cinema, and the Gyumri Branch of the State Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia join forces, bringing together their expertise and professional platforms to present a contemporary art exhibition exploring the relationship between humans, nature, and the Earth.
In 2025, under the theme Ecology and the Environment, Gyumri Art Week explored the relationship between nature and art while commemorating the 100th anniversary of the birth of Marcos Grigorian. In his artistic practice, soil, nature, and the environment in which human life unfolds are not merely materials or subjects, but fundamental elements of artistic thought.
The exhibition brings together video art, new media, installation, and interdisciplinary artistic practices, creating a space where environmental concerns intersect with art, culture, and public dialogue.
Earth in Frame approaches the “frame” not merely as an image in cinema or video, but as a way of looking, choosing, and perceiving. When the Earth becomes the focus of our attention, the perspective through which we see and understand our surroundings begins to shift.
The exhibition invites visitors to reconsider humanity’s relationship with the Earth and reflect on how we might imagine the future if we viewed nature not as something separate from ourselves, but as an inseparable part of our lives.
