Three photo exhibitions on environmental issues and wildlife are presented in the frames of SunChild First Regional Environmental Festival. Among them, the festival presents Hrach Ghazaryan's photo exhibition. Perhaps anyone, who is interested in environment in Armenia, should have seen some of his photos or heard about his works. His photos have been published in numerous books, calendars, educational manuals, on many environmental web-sites, and placed in the halls of the Ministry of Nature Protection of RA.
Hrach Ghazaryan has spent all his life observing, photographing and filming the Armenian wildlife, endangered animals and plants in the hills and forests of Armenia. He is the first cameraman who started to film Armenian wildlife.
In 1971 he graduated from the Institute of Zoology, getting the degree of Master of Arts in Zoology. In 1976 he received master's degree in Biology, at the Department of Biology of Yerevan State University. In 1976-1977 he worked in Khosrov National Reserve as a researcher. He is one of the founders of Sevan National Park. From 1986-1993 he worked in the Armenian Nature Museum as taxidermist, and from 1993-2001 in the Ministry of Nature Protection of RA as Head Zoologist.
From the mid-60s up to now he has been engaged in wildlife filmmaking and photography. Since 2001 he is one of the founding members of the Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets in Armenia (FPWC), he is a co-author of the wildlife film series produced by the foundation (30 films), which have been screened at many international festivals and received numerous awards.
In the frames of SunChild First Regional Environmental Festival Hrach Ghazaryan's photos exhibition and presentation of his book are organized.
