Ripple of We
The Ripple of We follows a teenager growing up on Jeju Island whose connection to the ocean leads him to confront marine pollution firsthand. By diving beneath the surface and taking action with his friends, he discovers how one person’s concern can grow into collective action—and how even the smallest ripple can become we.

Director’s Biography
Daniel Soonbum Kwon is an 11th-grade student at St. Johnsbury Academy Jeju in South Korea. Born and raised in South Korea, he is a student filmmaker, director, editor, and
storyteller with a strong interest in environmental and human-centered stories. He also serves as a Student Director for his school’s broadcast program. His short documentary The Ripple of We has been named an Official Selection at the 2026 All American High School Film Festival, ECOCINE International Environmental and Human Rights Film Festival, and Wildlife Conservation Film Festival.
