THE FUTURE: AT WHAT PRICE?
If we want to avoid the climate catastrophe that awaits us, then we need to urgently cut planetary CO2 emissions by half. Unfortunately the experts are predicting that global energy consumption will double between now and the year 2050. Reasonable energy consumption is the only concrete solution to avoiding these too easy to imagine catastrophic scenarios that are increasingly tempering our spirits. All other options are nothing but illusions for those blinded by reality. Can the carbon trading market put into place by the Kyoto treaty give rise to this environmental revolution or is it an ideal opportunity for "greening" reckless speculators? The time for hesitating is over. The price that we give to carbon is that of our future... Our children's future.

David Martin (b. 1973, Meudon)
After graduating from the Ecole nationale superieure Louis Lumiere film school, David Martin decided to leave for Germany. The son of a renowned expert and activist in climate issues, David found in Bavaria the ideal environment for developing his first film projects. All modes of expression including TV series, documentaries, feature films, and board games, are viable means in signalling the alarm on the threats to our planet's future. Now back in France, David regularly collides with distributors wary of worrying their audiences, but he is not about to give up. With The Future at What Price?, David continues with his mission to show that there are solutions to the major challenge of climate change.
