THE GREEN CITY
Riga has not only a huge architectural heritage, but also unique natural territories. One of them is the Bullu or Daugavgrivas Island, which is located between the mouths of the Lielupe and Daugava Rivers. Botanists have found 38 species of plants which are recorded in the Red Book of Endangered Species. One of the most important migration routes for birds- the Baltic-White Sea Migration Route - passes right over the island. During the migration season, more than 180 species of birds can be found there.

Director Karpars Goba
He is a Latvian documentary film director, photographer and journalist. His carrier in film making industry started in 1996 at Vides filmu studija, Riga, Latvia. During the last 10 years he has also been working for Juris Podnieks Studio and Latvian National TV as a director, scriptwriter and cinematographer. In 2005 he founded ELM Media production.
