THE LAKE GIVEN BY THE SEA
The film is a story of Latvia's largest coastal lake and the lives of the people living by it and reflects the formation of the lake, beginning with its separation from the sea in ancient times. The lake's wonderful natural scenery and the depiction of birds and animals blend with accounts of the daily lives of fishermen, farmers, hunters and nature park employees. People's colorful stories about the lake and the efforts to maintain its natural qualities provide an extraordinary opportunity to get to know one of Latvia's most unique places.

Director Karpars Goba
He is a Latvian documentary film director, photographer and journalist. His carrier in film making industry started in 1996 at Vides filmu studija, Riga, Latvia. During the last 10 years he has also been working for Juris Podnieks Studio and Latvian National TV as a director, scriptwriter and cinematographer. In 2005 he founded ELM Media production.
